Integrity

The third pillar of data security is to maintain data integrity. Integrity ensures that data is not incorrectly altered in any way.

An integrity failure would occur if a user gained access to a critical database and made a change to a data record without detection.

An example of this is discussed by Ms. Bev Harris of Blackboxvoting.org where she demonstrates how to commit undetectable voter fraud and alter election results with a simple database edit.
